Welcome to the Ember Developer Portal. We aim to provide a comprehensive source of practical ZigBee information for Ember developers and for the ZigBee community as a whole. Please send us feedback.

You can search for specific topics from the search bar on the upper right side of the page.

The ‘Primary Links’ menu on the right hand side details the main areas of the site, which covers the following sections:

Documentation – contains documentation from our stack release and application notes on specific topics
Download – download area to access current releases of the EmberZNet PRO stack and other development software
Support – customers can ask questions to our support team as tickets, and review ticket status from this page
Training – a good place to start for introductory information about ZigBee and EmberZNet.

Note that some sections may require you to be logged in, such as the software downloads. These sections are generally restricted to existing Ember customers/partners/distributors. If you believe you should have access but do not have a username and password for this site, please contact portal-logins [at] ember.com to request access.
Recent portal slowness

We’ve been receiving feedback from users of the site telling us that the portal has been slower (than usual) lately.

While we’re looking to scale our support portal to a more capable server, the more recent latency issues in loading pages is apparently due to MySQL database issues on our end.

Interference on IEEE 802.15.4 Networks

There has been quite a bit of discussion recently on a paper by Brodsky and McConnell on potential denial of service attacks on IEEE 802.15.4 networks. This paper highlights some simple techniques for attacking these networks and cautions on the use of wireless networks for control systems. Although the paper cautions on the use of any wireless, it has been used by some proponents of frequency hopping as a reason not to use non-frequency hopping systems. This is interesting since the authors discuss intentionally jamming these systems.
